Synopsis
While treating a policewoman for smoking, troubled hypnotherapist Dr. Michael Strothermore (Goran Visnjic), has a psychic vision of a young girl floating beneath the surface of a stream. Detective Janet Losey (Shirley Henderson) prevails upon Michael to help hunt for a ritualistic serial killer who believes he’s discovered the key to immortality. The girl is an escaped victim with mysterious markings on her arms and struck dumb by her trauma. Scotland Yard needs the doctor’s strange powers to unlock her secrets as the investigation turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse. Based on the novel by Madison Smartt Bell, Dr. Sleep tells the story of a man who fears for the safety of his wife and daughter, and must endure the demons that come with his dangerous gift, as he tracks a killer who is tracking him.
